Merry Christmas and Happy New Year (Better Late Then Never)

Christmas 2015 TJP

The boy and I spent Christmas time in Jakarta, while daddy stayed in Singapore. The boy joined Sunday School Christmas Celebration in our old church when we were still living in Jakarta. The teacher asked him to join other students singing Christmas song on stage, which made him a little upset because he didn’t know the song so he just followed others, but overall he had a great time.

Then we came back to celebrate New Year in Singapore with daddy. We had lunch on New Year’s day with my sister and her husband in “the always crowded and with very long queues” Din Tai Fung Restaurant in Marina Bay Sands. This was the first time for the three of us. Usually, when we dine out, we always chose restaurants with shortest or no queues at all. This time, since it was New Year and my sister and her husband wanted to treat us here, we didn’t mind to wait. Thankfully, the wait was not long and we had a great time with good food and with good company.

We are thankful for the year of 2015, for the good and the not so good things that happened in our lives. We’ve learnt a lot from every situation whether it was a happy or sad or even disappointed one. We had been blessed with family and friends. May God gives us wisdom to face the new year and to live day by day according to his will. We also pray for good health and we are able to serve God more this year.

Hi there. I'm from Indonesia but now live quite far away from my home country. I love cooking for my family. I learned how to cook for the first time from my mom and I believe that mom's cooking is always the best, and I do hope that my son will feel the same too even though he grows up so fast. I love Indonesian food as I grew up with it, and I promise to myself that my son, although he doesn't live in Indonesia right now, will always like and enjoy authentic Indonesian food. I make this blog so that my family will always remember our togetherness and happy time that we had, are having, and will have when we eat together and have good memories about a mother's love through her dishes. Hopefully these recipes will help other people to make healthy home cooked dishes for their families.
