Christmas Tradition in Tanglin Mall

Yes, we were back to Tanglin Mall this year after we missed last year’s snow show.  We went here to experience the “snow” two and three years ago. The snow comes to Tanglin Mall every year during the year end holiday season, and it is like a tradition for kids and also adults to come, experience, and have fun with man made snow. Although it’s just soapy snow, but everybody gets crazy in the snow, because hey…………..it’s Singapore and we don’t have snow, so we welcome any kind of snow…………..

His second dinner. After he finished rice with fish and chips (very small portion), he said he was still hungry and asked for this fries with cheese. This one was good, the fries were still crispy even after they added cheese and mayonnaise. We had dinner at the food court in Tanglin Mall. It was good that he ate a lot because he would need all the energy to play in the “snow”

And this was what greeted us when we arrived:

Snow blizzard……………….made of soap……………..hahaha………….

The safest place to take picture………….our camera was still safe in here and didn’t get wet, but if you don’t mind with your camera or phone get wet a little, then come to the center where you will see this:

A place full of snow……………..avalanche and snow drops

We actually came 15 minutes late so the avalanche had already stopped, but the snow had just dropped. It was weekend so the avalanche and snow came twice, and the boy said he would wait for the second show.

After everything stopped, there was another 30 minutes before the new avalanche came.

The decoration outside the mall was also very pretty. It was simple but yet beautiful. Too bad I didn’t capture all the decor outside because the boy couldn’t be separated too long from the snow

After 30 minutes, the avalanche came (from the 2 snow machines), and all the children were suddenly went mad.

Then came the snow and everybody was like crazy and went to the center of the snow drops.

Finally, everything stopped

But we still had fun playing with soap…………..

And again…….

Definitely the best and cutest costume of the year…………

When you play here, you will get so wet and dirty and soapy and sticky……………….but just have fun and forget all about the sticky thing in your body and hair and shoes and clothes and just enjoy everything because it only comes once a year. Don’t worry about your camera or phone get a bit wet, just fill them with joy and laughter of your family. A night bathe is also necessary after the snow. Tap water to cleanse and rinse is provided near the area, but still, you have to take a good bath at home to remove all the sand and sticky soap thoroughly.

Hi there. I'm from Indonesia but now live quite far away from my home country. I love cooking for my family. I learned how to cook for the first time from my mom and I believe that mom's cooking is always the best, and I do hope that my son will feel the same too even though he grows up so fast. I love Indonesian food as I grew up with it, and I promise to myself that my son, although he doesn't live in Indonesia right now, will always like and enjoy authentic Indonesian food. I make this blog so that my family will always remember our togetherness and happy time that we had, are having, and will have when we eat together and have good memories about a mother's love through her dishes. Hopefully these recipes will help other people to make healthy home cooked dishes for their families.

  1. Seru.. Kalo dari jauh kayak Snow beneran ya…

Itu soap nya kalo kena mata gak perih?

    • Hahaha……iya, kayak beneran ya, emang pinter tuh yang bikinnya.
Kalo kena mata sih gak terlalu perih ya, tapi tetep sih mesti cepet2 dibersihin pake air yang emang disediain di situ.
