Remember that I had promised to the boy that he could have another AUD5 for his shopping budget if we agreed to walk from Paradise Country to the bus stop? Well, ever since we went back from Paradise Country, he kept asking me when he could go shopping………..so I said he could go after we came back from Dreamworld.
Although he was very tired after the trip, he said he didn’t want to stay at the hotel and he must go out to the souvenir shop “Aku kan mau beli-beli…………………”.
We recommend this one souvenir shop (withing walking distance from our hotel to Surfers Paradise area), and the owners was a couple from Malaysia but could speak Indonesia. So just ask for 10% discount if you happen to speak either Chinese, Malay, or Indonesia. There are many souvenir shops along this street, so please do compare from one place to another, although we found out that most things in this shop were cheaper compared to other places. Daddy bought some souvenirs like hats and bags from other shop because he couldn’t find those item in this shop. Many sister and mom also bought many things from this shop.
Don’t forget to always count the amount of money that you have to pay, check again whether the shop owner calculation is correct or not, and always count the change. Do this everywhere including in the big supermarket. We had bad experience with this twice, so we were very careful after that.
We spent quite a long time here because the boy couldn’t decide what to buy. With his AUD15 budget, he must pick carefully from so many interesting things in the shop. So he calculated again and again, and at the end he only spent AUD13, hahaha…………..I knew most of the things would be ended somewhere unknown around the house and he would not care anymore few days until we got home (which already happened by the way), so that was why I only gave him AUD15.
He was happy with the shopping and tried the boomerang once he entered the room.
And that was the end of our third day in Gold Coast.
