Jacob Ballas Children Garden (The Second Visit)

Jacob Ballas Children Garden is located inside Singapore Botanic Gardens. There is a car park just in front of Jacob Ballas and a kids cafe is located before the entrance door to Jacob Ballas Children Garden.

To park here, you need enter via Raffles Building car park (on the left of the car park near the Visitor Center) and follow the road ahead until you see the sign to Jacob Ballas on the left.

This was our second visit to Jacob Ballas, and according to the name………………you can only enter this garden if you are a child……….or you are coming with a a child. So adult alone………is not allowed to enter. It’s like a privilege for children and although the park was quite different then our first visit, we still saw many children playing happily inside.

The first thing that we noticed was that the water play area was closed! Ouch, what a disappointment. But the reason was because of the dry season that is happening in Singapore and that we must saved water, so it was acceptable for the boy.

Another things was the playground. There was only one tree house with one slide opened, the other one was closed for maintenance. Oh well……………although we were a bit disappointed, but kids could always find ways to have fun anyway. The children decided to still had fun with one slide and used everything they could find to have fun. They played with used water bottles, small branches from the trees, and even used their hands to write on the sands. Many children brought their sand toys and played happily before the big rain came. It’s amazing how children can always find ways to stay happy and have fun, isn’t it?

The boy was still amazed at this photosynthesis system and how they works to produce food and oxygen

The white and soft fog which I believe was the gas produced at the photosynthesis process

The rocking bridge

Slide happily on the orange slide (the one and only slide)

Play with the sand

Just behind the playground, you will find these big mushrooms. Walk to the left and you will find:

A secluded fish pond……………….very quiet and relaxing

Feed the fish……..

The rain finally came so we had to rush to the car………….but we promised to come back and have picnic near the lake.

Hi there. I'm from Indonesia but now live quite far away from my home country. I love cooking for my family. I learned how to cook for the first time from my mom and I believe that mom's cooking is always the best, and I do hope that my son will feel the same too even though he grows up so fast. I love Indonesian food as I grew up with it, and I promise to myself that my son, although he doesn't live in Indonesia right now, will always like and enjoy authentic Indonesian food. I make this blog so that my family will always remember our togetherness and happy time that we had, are having, and will have when we eat together and have good memories about a mother's love through her dishes. Hopefully these recipes will help other people to make healthy home cooked dishes for their families.
