This was actually the first bread I made that I consider “a success in making bread in my bread machine”. I had made this before I made garlic cheese bread and sweet vanilla bread. Too bad at that time I didn’t take proper photos, so I couldn’t post it here. So I made again today and took some decent photos to be published here.
This is a soft bread, even after 3 days I found the bread was still good and yummy. I usually store the bread in a big jar on the kitchen table or dining table. One night, I was eating this bread when I had an argument with lil boy. He seemed upset and angry with me. So what did he do? With his funny and cute (to me of course) sullen-face, he went to the kitchen table, grabbed my bread jar, took one slice of bread, brought it to his chair and sat in front of me, continued his drawing with one hand and ate the bread with the other hand. Then he said: “Hmmm…..enak……(hmm….delicious)“. I laughed and offered him chocolate nutella, which he refused because he liked to eat the bread plainly without additional topping. Well, at last he allowed me to spread the jam but only on half of his bread. We were cool after that and ended the argument. We shared stories and laughed together again after that. What a nice memories of our togetherness…….

Ingredients (put in the order listed below):
- 1 cup warm water
- 3 tbsp vegetable oil
- 3 cups bread flour
- 4 tbsp sugar (on top of the flour in one corner)
- 1 1/2 tsp salt (on top of the flour in another corner)
- 2 1/2 tsp instant dry yeast
How to make:
- Set to setting: sandwich (1.5 loaf, light crust)
- Wait until 5 minutes before taking the bread out of the bread pan
- Let it cool
- Slice and enjoy
