Everyday Is A Miracle

Be happy and enjoy every single bite of it

Unplanned Weekend in Downtown East

Last Saturday, we didn’t have any exact plans of where to go, especially because lil boy had just recovered from his cough and flu. But of course, the idea of staying at home on a bright sunny Saturday is never good enough for everyone. In the morning, lil boy spent his time riding his bike with daddy. After some arguments of where to go, we decided to go to Downtown East to watch the free Christmas song shows and Rockin’ Christmas Live in Show in the evening, had dinner, then went home. Well, those were the plans. I predicted we would be home at around 6 pm or 7 pm.

After we had our lunch at home (Rafael finished one plate of rice and one big bowl of chicken corn soup-so I supposed his tummy was very full), we headed down to the Downtown East on foot at 2.30 pm. Well, the show would not start until 5 pm, so we still got plenty of time. And now what to do first?

We decided to try the Mini Bowl in Orchid Bowl (located at E-hub). There are two lanes bowl for children inside the Orchid Bowl. The Orchid Bowl itself was very packed with people in every lane. Thankfully, there were only 2 children (brothers) were playing in the mini bowl when we arrived. They were very nice by giving one lane to us, and they played together on the other lane. Knowing that my son didn’t really know how to play, they showed his some tricks and tips on how to play. They were really really nice boys (I didn’t see their parents around them).

To play in the mini bowl, we had to insert $2 coins. Rafael spent $12 which was 6 times playing. It was really fun although he didn’t really master the game, but we just had fun there no matter what the score was. What I like about this mini bowl are: no need to use special bowling shoes, the lanes are shorter, the ball is not as heavy as in the real bowling game, and nobody really concerns about your scores – so it really suits for children.

After all the playing that wasted his energy (really? we were there for just about an hour), the two boys felt hungry again and we decided to go to Pastamania for some snacks. We ordered small size cheese pizza and medium size pepperoni for the three of us. Luckily, there were two promotions from NTUC and our credit card, so we got extra garlic cheese bread and chicken honey. Yippeee……! I also like their chilli paste….better than the KFC in here….and the all you can eat parmesan cheese on the table is a plus plus point for our lil cheese lover mania.

I like this dish. I though lil boy won't like this because it was rather sweet, but I guess after

I like this dish. I though lil boy won’t like this because it was rather sweet, but he liked it very much. So we had to share this small plate among us. And finally, he added parmesan cheese onto these chickens. And after eating 1/3 of his part, he continued with these:

One garlic bread, two pepperoni pizzas, and two cheese pizza

This is what I say: eating cheese with pizza.....

After we filled our tummy, daddy asked if we wanted to watch movie in Cathay Cineplex. Hmmm…….we didn’t plan for this actually, so after a short thought we decided to check the nearest available schedule……which luckily was at 4.15 pm for Hotel Transylvania. We bought the ticket at 4 pm, and there were still many seats left. So we could still chose the best spots for the three of us. Lil boy enjoyed the movie so much, it was full of laughter, and of course his favorite was Cee Lo Green as the sand monster.

After we happily watched Hotel Transylvania, we went down to Event Square to find so many bubbles everywhere. Ouch, there were bubbles came down from the rooftop for a few minutes. Let’s chase all those bubbles. Playing bubbles is always fun.

While waiting for the show, lil boy decided that he should running freely on the grass field with other children. Well, after all, this is the first mall with an open air of grass field. Too bad we didn’t bring our ball or frisbee (will do it the next time we visit this place again). We can actually have picnics in here ( I actually saw some people laid their mat on the grass and brought their own food to eat).

And now, it’s show time!

Well, we’re not going home yet!

And, daddy said he was hungry again……well actually I was still full with pizza and popcorn, so I didn’t really want to eat. Lil boy said he didn’t feel hungry either, but I said I would not cook at home since it was already night, so I asked him to eat anyway. We ended up in Magic Wok, but I only ordered a drink.

For someone

For someone who said he wasn’t hungry, I wondered how he could finish up all these cheese pasta and sausages.

And that was the end of the day. Well, actually we stopped by at the White Sands Mall before going home to buy new school shoes for lil boy. We didn’t get the shoes, but I got a new bag for my camera which was on sale. After all those food that he ate, lil boy still drank a glass of milk before going to bed. I wonder how he can still maintain his weight not going up………..

Hi there. I'm from Indonesia but now live quite far away from my home country. I love cooking for my family. I learned how to cook for the first time from my mom and I believe that mom's cooking is always the best, and I do hope that my son will feel the same too even though he grows up so fast. I love Indonesian food as I grew up with it, and I promise to myself that my son, although he doesn't live in Indonesia right now, will always like and enjoy authentic Indonesian food. I make this blog so that my family will always remember our togetherness and happy time that we had, are having, and will have when we eat together and have good memories about a mother's love through her dishes. Hopefully these recipes will help other people to make healthy home cooked dishes for their families.

    • Sayangnya di sini permainan bowling khusus buat anak2 emang jarang banget sih…..sedangkan kalau main di tempat dewasa kitanya yang gak pede abis kayaknya yang lain pada jago2 amat sih hehehe…..
